Many people in East London put off booking a hearing test for months, or even years, simply because hearing loss tends to creep up gradually rather than happen overnight. If you’ve been turning the TV volume up higher than you used to, asking people to repeat themselves in noisy cafes or restaurants, finding phone calls harder to follow, or if a partner or family member has gently mentioned it, those are all reasonable prompts to book with an audiologist east london. The same applies to a new ringing, buzzing or humming in one or both ears, which can be an early sign of tinnitus rather than something to simply live with. None of this means anything is seriously wrong — most of the time a hearing test simply rules things out or catches a manageable issue early, before it affects daily life or relationships. Our free online hearing screener is a good first step if you’re not sure whether a full appointment is needed yet.
A first visit typically starts with a short conversation about your hearing history and any concerns, followed by an otoscopic examination to check for wax or other visible causes, and then a diagnostic hearing test if needed. Your audiologist will talk you through the results in plain language — not just a graph — and explain any recommended next steps, whether that’s simple monitoring, wax removal, or a discussion about hearing aid options. There’s never any pressure to buy anything on the day. If hearing aids are the right fit, we’ll talk through the full range of brands and price points, since we’re independently owned and not tied to promoting any single manufacturer. Most appointments last between 30 and 60 minutes depending on what’s needed, and you’re welcome to bring a friend or family member along for support.
We’re open every day, 09:00–19:00, including weekends and bank holidays. For general guidance on hearing loss symptoms, see the NHS hearing loss guide.
